Grant Cardone Is The Star Of New NGC Show Turnaround King
Grant Cardone is a motivational speaker, author, and entrepreneur whose business success and entrepreneurial advice has led to the title “The Turnaround King.” Cardone is not just the CEO of three multi-million dollar corporations, but is also the writer of four successful books, makes frequent TV appearances, leads popular sales seminars, and oversees a sales training site.
His Life
Grant Cardone came into this world in 1958 in Lake Charles, LA, the fourth of 5 children (one of whom is a twin brother, Gary). His father died when Cardone was nine years of age and his older brother died when he was twenty – two events which took an understandable toll on his family but which Cardone says have shaped the motivated individual he is today. Cardone currently lives in Los Angeles, CA along with his wife, Eleyna Lyons (an actress), and his daughter Sabrina; as of June 2011, they’re also expecting a second child.
Education and Training
After attending the local high school in Lake Charles, Grant Cardone went on to acquire a B.S. in Accounting from McNeese State University, also located in Lake Charles, where he received a Distinguished Alumnus award in 2010. Cardone’s earliest sales training occurred in high school and college, where he worked with a few sales-based companies that included a clothing store, a furniture store, as well as a fishing boat (the last of which he credits with triggering his passion for sales). After college, Cardone worked in automotive sales and as a traveling sales trainer for an organization based out of Chicago.
Philosophy of Performance
The lynchpin of Grant Cardone’s strategy lies in his focus on sales; Cardone believes that the best businesses make selling the central focus in their daily operations, and therefore sales is usually the most crucial mode applied by families to move up in the world. Cardone’s general business philosophy could be summed up in one of his very own oft-repeated statements: “Success is your obligation, duty, and responsibility.” Cardone believes that sales success will depend on one’s positive attitude and determination, understanding that these attitudes directly impact business performance, which he categorizes on three levels: poor performers, average to good performers, and over performers. According to Cardone, only over performers are guaranteed success at work.
Grant Cardone’s Current Work
Grant Cardone is a regular contributor on Fox News’s “Fox and Friends,” and has also appeared on Bloomberg Television and CNBC’s “Street Signs,” offering sales and financial advice to entrepreneurs, small business owners, and Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, Cardone has jump-started an interactive sale training website (SalesTrainingVT.com), all while regularly publishing to his “success blog” and overseeing his online “success forum,” each of which are accessible through his website.
Grant Cardone’s Published Books
Grant Cardone is also a successful published author, having penned four novels in the past 3 years. His first book, Sell to Survive (2008), covers basic sales strategies across a variety of economies. The Closer’s Survival Guide, published during 2009, is basically explained by its title: a training manual or “how-to” guide for closing sales. 2010’s If You’re Not First, You’re Last, which covers successful sales strategies, was Cardone’s most successful book, landing on the New York Times best-seller list. His newest book, just published this year, is entitled The 10X Rule, and explains tips on how to achieve what Cardone terms “massive action” results.
Grant’s Live Events and Merchandise
In addition to his roles as webmaster, blogger, television personality, and author, Grant Cardone is also a successful and popular motivational speaker. Cardone frequently travels throughout the country on the seminar circuit, and tailors his speaking engagements to the needs of his variant audiences. As an example, based on demand, Cardone offers auditorium-style presentations, roundtable discussions, or one-on-one and small-group consultations, all of which focus on one of his regions of expertise, whether it is automotive sales, real estate, sales closing or finance.
